COMBAT YOUR HIGH CHOLESTEROL
If you have too much cholesterol, it starts to build up in your arteries. Arteries are the blood vessels that carry blood away from the heart. Your cholesterol levels can help your doctor find out your risk for having a heart attack or stroke among other things. There are two major types of cholesterol namely:-
Low Density Lipoproteins (LDL) is the ‘bad’ cholesterol. It’s the kind that can raise your risk of heart disease, heart attack and stroke.
High Density Lipoproteins (HDL) is the ‘good’ cholesterol. It’s the kind that is linked to a lower risk of heart disease, heart attack and stroke.
Regulating the diet greatly reduces the high levels of cholesterol. Lifestyle is another factor. Irregular eating habits, no exercise and high alcohol intake also increases the cholesterol. Herbal remedies are very effective and its regular use significantly reduces the high cholesterol. Here are few herbs to try in order to control the raising level of cholesterol.
1) TEA WITH ANIOXDIANTS:-
While tea has become well known for its cancer-fighting antioxidants, it is also a great defence against high LDL cholesterol levels.
2) ONE GARLIC A DAY:-
Garlic is every effective in reducing the cholesterol level as it increases HDL and decreases the LDL. It also greatly reduces the lipids in the body. Take one clove of garlic a day and after a period of twelve weeks, the cholesterol level would have decreased considerably.
3) OLIVE OIL:-
It is very effective in controlling the cholesterol level because it is very rich in monounsaturated fatty acids. Use olive oil in your diet on a regular basis. Take a minimum or two tablespoons of olive oil on everyday along with diet.
4) FENUGREEK SEEDS:-
Take two tablespoons of fenugreek seeds to a glass of water and keep it overnight.
Strain it and drink the mixture in an empty stomach in the morning. Fenugreek seeds reduce the cholesterol level .
